There’s a specific kind of argument that happens in every MultiVersus Discord server: someone says Joker is trash, someone else says he’s the best character in the game, and both pull up a different tier list to prove it. I watched this exact argument happen once, and both “proof” links traced back to articles last touched in 2024.
That’s the actual problem with most MultiVersus tier lists floating around right now: they’re either frozen in time, contradict themselves, or lock the one useful feature, letting you make your own ranking, behind a login wall. This page skips all three problems using the same free tier list maker that powers every ranking on this site. Below you’ll find a live, working tier list template already loaded with every current MultiVersus fighter, ready to drag straight into tiers, alongside a rankings breakdown you can actually check against.
Try the Interactive MultiVersus Tier List Template
The template on this page comes preloaded with every current playable MultiVersus fighter already added, from Arya Stark to Wonder Woman, so there’s no uploading images or hunting down character art yourself. You just start dragging. If you’d rather start from a totally blank board instead, the homepage tier list maker works the same way with your own images.
It’s also fully yours to reshape. You’re not stuck with a rigid S/A/B/C structure:
- Add or remove tiers so it fits how you actually think about the roster
- Rename any tier (“My Mains,” “Never Touching This,” whatever fits)
- Set a custom background color and text color for each tier
- Reorder tiers by dragging them up or down
- Reset the whole board if you want to start over
There’s also a full-screen button on the template, which is genuinely useful here since MultiVersus has a big enough roster that a cramped browser window makes dragging fiddly, especially if you’re settling this on a shared screen with friends.
No account, login, or signup is required for any of this.
How to Use This Template
Open the tier list maker at the top of this page and you’ll see the full MultiVersus roster already sitting in a holding area at the bottom, ready to go.
- Drag each fighter into a tier. Start with the ones you feel strongly about, your mains, your most-hated opponent, then fill in the rest.
- Disagree with the default S/A/B/C setup? Change it. Rename tiers, recolor them, or add a new one entirely (a lot of people add a “Meme Tier” just for the joke picks).
- Need more room? Hit full-screen mode so the board fills your display.
- Want to add something the template doesn’t have? Click Create to open the built-in design editor. It works like a lightweight version of MS Paint: pen tool, shapes, eraser, undo/redo, and a text tool with bold, italic, and alignment options. You can also upload your own image and draw or write directly on it, useful if you want to make a custom item like “Leaked Character #4” before it’s officially confirmed.
- Done? Download it, or generate a share link (more on that below).
MultiVersus Tier List (Current Rankings)
This ranking reflects the roster as of the update date above and is based on 2v2 performance, the standard competitive format in MultiVersus. Characters move between tiers as Player First Games ships balance patches, so treat this as a snapshot, not gospel, and use the live template above if you want to challenge any placement yourself.

Tier List Ranking Criteria
A ranking is only useful if you know what it’s actually measuring. Here’s what factors into the placements above.
Power Level, Team Impact, and Ease of Use
- Power level looks at how strong a character is at their theoretical ceiling, assuming optimized itemization and playstyle.
- Team impact measures what a character brings to a partner in 2v2, buffs, zoning support, ring-out setups, rather than just their own personal damage.
- Ease of use matters because two characters performing at a similar power level aren’t equal if one takes 40 hours of training-mode practice to unlock and the other doesn’t.
Why 2v2, Not 1v1
MultiVersus, developed by Player First Games, is built and balanced primarily around 2v2 battles, so that’s the format this ranking prioritizes. A character can be a nightmare in 1v1 and mediocre in 2v2, or the reverse, so if you’re specifically hunting for a 1v1 pick, don’t assume this list transfers directly. This is exactly the kind of thing worth testing yourself in the live template above, since you can build a separate “1v1 only” board in a few seconds by resetting and re-ranking.
Character Breakdowns
- Arya Stark (S). The clearest S-tier pick right now. Face-Stealer lets her stun and briefly copy an opponent’s moves, which turns most matchups into a guessing game she controls. Her low health pool is the only real weakness, and it barely matters once you’re comfortable weaving in her teleport to avoid punishes.
- The Joker (S). A mage with an assassin’s damage output. His jab, dash attack, and up tilt all hit hard, and his balloon-based recovery means he rarely dies to an edge-guard. The main learning curve is his cooldown management.
- Wonder Woman (S). Classified as a tank but faster than most fighters in that class. Her Lasso of Truth is one of the best rescue tools in the game for pulling a falling ally back to safety, and her shield doubles as a temporary platform.
- Finn (S). Still dangerous even after several nerfs to his hitboxes. His coin-collection mechanic rewards aggressive, consistent play, and his backpack attack remains one of the best high-priority pokes in the cast.
- Samurai Jack (S). Deceptively simple. His kit looks basic on paper, but the combo potential from his jab and down air is enough to keep opponents permanently off-stage against a skilled player.
- Batman (A). Excellent frame data, a reliable Batarang projectile, and a Weakened debuff on several basic attacks. He’d be S-tier if he didn’t lean quite so hard on that debuff to actually close out stocks.
- Bugs Bunny (A). One of only two Mage-class fighters, and still a strong pick after multiple balance passes. His Bunny Burrow keeps spacing tight, and his combo potential rewards creative, unpredictable play.
- Harley Quinn (A). Fast, hard to pin down, and built around a small number of very effective tricks rather than a huge moveset. Her speed compensates for the fact that Assassins take extra damage as a class.
- Black Adam (A). Went from a lukewarm launch character to one of the more skill-expressive picks in the game. His lightning-based combos have real style and real damage behind them.
- Tom and Jerry (A). A strong zoning duo, but one that requires managing two characters’ positioning at once, which keeps them out of S-tier despite their tools.
- Gizmo (A). Probably the best pure zoner in the current cast. His projectile variety makes him miserable to approach, though his light weight is a real vulnerability once someone closes the gap.
- Iron Giant (A). Enormous hitboxes mean he punishes mistakes hard, but his slow movement speed is the tradeoff, and he can be disabled from certain modes entirely, which caps his ceiling.
- Rick (B). A strong zoner with Meeseeks and a plasma gun, but one of the more mechanically demanding Mage picks in the roster.
- Jason (B). Extremely hard to knock out thanks to his Relentless passive, though his lack of vertical recovery is a real liability near the edge.
- Stripe (B). An aggressive assassin who deals damage steadily but struggles to close out stocks without a partner backing him up.
- Beetlejuice (B). Still fairly new to the roster and much stronger in 2v2 than solo, where his passive actually functions properly.
- Shaggy (B). Beginner-friendly and well balanced, though his rage-fueled combos are telegraphed enough that experienced opponents punish them consistently.
- Superman (B). Weaker than his beta-era self after several movement nerfs, but his tankiness and off-stage recovery keep him relevant.
- Agent Smith (B). His jab combo starter is his whole identity. Reliable when it lands, weak when opponents avoid it.
- Steven Universe (B). A support-oriented fighter who’s excellent at avoiding damage but has little to fall back on once his defensive tools are read.
- Raven (B). New to the roster and works well with her companion Lenore for zoning, though her own moveset can be slow and dodgeable.
- Taz (C). His whole kit revolves around two or three very effective moves. Once an opponent learns to wait them out, he has little else to offer.
- Marvin the Martian (C). A ranged assassin whose melee options are underwhelming, and whose UFO laser has enough startup time to be predictable.
- Reindog (C). The only original MultiVersus character, focused heavily on buffing a partner. Strong support tools, but weak alone.
- Banana Guard (C). Launched strong, then evened out hard after balance passes. Still a decent “noob stomper,” but not much beyond that.
- LeBron (C). Loses most of his identity if he’s separated from his basketball, which happens often enough to be a genuine weakness.
- Jake (C). Fell hardest of any character from his beta-era peak. Several rounds of buffs haven’t fully recovered his old standing.
- Velma (C). Arguably the weakest character in the current cast. Her Mystery Machine kill confirm is strong but requires too much setup to rely on consistently.
- Garnet (C). A jack-of-all-trades Bruiser who’s fine but outclassed, lacking both the speed and durability to stand out.

Fighter Classes Explained
MultiVersus splits its roster into five roles. Knowing these makes tier placements easier to understand at a glance. If you’re building rankings for other crossover fighters or roster-based games, the same class-first approach works well, see our Genshin Impact characters tier list for a similar breakdown by role.
| Class | What it does | Example characters |
|---|---|---|
| Bruiser | Balanced damage dealers, no major gimmick, straightforward combos | Batman, Samurai Jack, Jake |
| Assassin | Fast, high mobility, fragile (takes extra damage as a class) | Arya Stark, Finn, Harley Quinn |
| Mage | Projectile and zoning focused, controls space from range | Bugs Bunny, Rick, Tom and Jerry |
| Support | Buffs allies, debuffs enemies, weaker alone than in a team | Reindog, Steven Universe, Gizmo |
| Tank | High health pool, absorbs damage, often slower | Wonder Woman, Iron Giant, Jason |
Best MultiVersus Character for Beginners
Skip the “free character rotation” advice since that list changes week to week and goes stale fast. Instead, these three hold up as genuinely good starting picks regardless of what’s free right now:
- Batman for a straightforward, forgiving Bruiser kit with a reliable projectile
- Shaggy for a simple “hit buttons, get results” moveset that still scales with practice
- Finn for players who want to learn spacing and combo timing early, since his kit rewards exactly those fundamentals
Recent Changes and Patch Impact
| Update | Character | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Latest balance pass | Arya Stark | Movement speed increased, Down + Attack adjusted for more combo openings |
| Latest balance pass | Harley Quinn | No direct nerf, but slid down as newer characters and buffs elsewhere outpaced her |
| Latest balance pass | Batman | Batarang nerfed, Weakened debuff removed from Up + Air |
| Latest balance pass | Superman | Continued nerfs plus the Broken Wings perk addition reduced his ease of use |
| Roster update | Raven | Joined the roster, landed in B tier for solid but slow team-oriented play |
Balance changes shift this list regularly. If you want the full, unfiltered patch history, check the official MultiVersus patch notes directly from Warner Bros. Games, or browse ongoing player discussion on the MultiVersus subreddit for real-time reactions to a fresh patch.
Download, Share, and Compare Your Tier List
Once your board looks right, you don’t need to screenshot it awkwardly or sign up for anything to show it off.
- Download it as an image in one click
- Generate a shareable link that anyone can open, no account needed on their end either
- The link page itself includes a download button, social share buttons for Facebook, X, Reddit, and WhatsApp, emoji reactions so friends can react without typing a comment, an embed code if you run a blog or community site and want the interactive list dropped right into a post, and a comment box for actual discussion
None of this requires logging in, on your end or the viewer’s. That’s a genuine departure from how most tier list sites handle sharing, several require an account just for your list to register as part of their community rankings at all.
Building a Template for a Bigger Ranking
MultiVersus has over 30 fighters and a growing library of skins and variants, and manually uploading dozens of character images gets tedious fast if you want something more specific, like a “DC characters only” ranking or a full skins tier list.
For that, copy the AI import prompt provided on this site and paste it into any AI tool you use. Tell it what you want ranked, for example “every current MultiVersus DC character” or “all MultiVersus Looney Tunes skins,” and it will return a block of code. Import that code back into the tier list maker, and it automatically builds a template with the right images or text items already added and ready to rank, no manual uploading required.
Report an Outdated or Missing Character
MultiVersus gets new fighters and roster updates fairly regularly, and templates can fall behind. If you notice a missing character, an incorrect image, or a roster entry that’s since been changed, use the report option available on the template to flag it. It takes a few seconds and helps keep the template accurate for the next person who lands on this page.

The Bottom Line
Every MultiVersus tier list eventually goes stale the moment the next patch drops, which is exactly why the ability to rank the roster yourself, for free, with no login, matters more than any single writer’s opinion.
To recap:
- The live template above already has every current fighter loaded and ready to drag into tiers
- You can fully customize tiers, add your own items through the built-in editor, and use full-screen mode for group sessions
- Sharing, downloading, and reacting all work without an account, for you or anyone you send the link to
- The rankings on this page reflect 2v2 performance as of the date at the top, and will keep shifting as patches land
If Joker’s placement above still doesn’t match your experience with him, that’s fine. Scroll back up, drag him wherever you actually think he belongs, and send the link to whoever you were arguing with.
