Vtubers Tier List Maker | Rank Every VTuber From Hololive, Nijisanji & Beyond | Best Virtual Youtubers of 2026

I spent one argument last month trying to convince a friend that Pekora is funnier than any streamer with a real face. We ended up wanting to put names in boxes just to settle it. That’s the itch a VTuber tier list actually scratches, a place to put your opinion where someone else can see it, argue with it, or steal it for their own list.

If you’ve searched for a VTubers tier list, you’ve probably run into one of two problems already. Either the template you found is missing half the people you actually watch, or the tool wants you to make an account before you can save anything. This page skips both of those. There’s a free, no-login tier list maker up, preloaded with current VTubers from the major agencies, and nothing on this page, ranking, editing, downloading, or sharing, requires signing up.

Preloaded VTubers Tier List Template

The tier list maker on this page comes preloaded with VTubers grouped by agency: Hololive (EN, JP, and ID), Nijisanji (JP and EN), VShojo, Mythic, and a set of well known independent creators. You don’t need to upload a single image to get started. Drag the avatars straight into whichever tier fits your opinion, S through F, or whatever labels you end up using.

If someone’s missing, you’re not stuck. You can upload your own image directly into any tier using the Create button, which opens a full lightweight editor (more on that below), so a gap in the roster is a two minute fix, not a dead end.

How to Use This VTubers Tier List Template

Using it is closer to arranging trading cards on a table than filling out a form. Here’s the actual flow:

1. Open the template. It loads with every preloaded VTuber already sitting in a pool at the bottom, sorted loosely by agency so you’re not hunting through 300 random faces.
2. Drag each VTuber into a tier. Click and hold an avatar, drop it into the row you think it belongs in. There’s no limit on how many can sit in one tier.
3. Rename the tiers if you want. Swap “S” for “Auto-click, no thoughts” or whatever fits your sense of humor. Every tier label is editable text.
4. Add anyone missing. Hit Create, upload a picture (a screenshot, fan art, whatever), and drop it into the board like any preloaded item.
5. Save or download. Click Save/Download, add a title if you like, and either grab a PNG of the finished board or generate a shareable link.

That’s it. No login prompt interrupts any of those five steps.

What Actually Makes a VTuber S-Tier?

This is the part most ranking pages skip entirely, they just show you a subscriber count and call it a day. But subscriber count and “good” are not the same thing. CookieSwirlC has more YouTube subscribers than almost anyone in this space, and she’s rarely mentioned in VTuber conversations at all, because raw numbers don’t capture what fans are actually ranking. Here’s what usually does.

Content and stream style

Some VTubers are built around chaotic variety, gaming one day, a cooking stream the next, a three hour karaoke session after that. Others stick to a tight lane and get very good at it. Neither is automatically better, but consistency (showing up on a schedule people can rely on) tends to separate the VTubers who build lasting fanbases from the ones who fade after a strong debut.

Singing and utawaku ability

Utawaku, a karaoke-style singing stream, is one of the most common formats in VTubing, and singing ability genuinely splits opinions on who belongs near the top of a list. Hoshimachi Suisei built much of her reputation on this specifically. If you’re ranking based on raw entertainment value, this category carries real weight.

Community and fan engagement

How a VTuber treats chat, handles collabs, and responds to fan art or clips says a lot. Some of the most beloved names in the space aren’t the biggest by subscriber count, they’re the ones whose community feels tight-knit and genuinely appreciated.

Model and animation quality

Live2D rigging quality and how expressive a model is during high-energy moments (a good screaming reaction, a convincing laugh) is a real factor for viewers, especially for newer or smaller VTubers still building a following. A well animated model can carry a stream even when the content itself is simple.

Weigh these however matches your own taste. That’s the actual point of a tier list: it’s your ranking, not a leaderboard.

VTubers by Agency: Hololive, Nijisanji, VShojo & Indies

Understanding the agency landscape helps if you’re newer to VTubing and want context before ranking. Here’s a quick breakdown.

Hololive

Hololive splits into JP, EN, and ID branches, and consistently accounts for a huge share of total VTuber watch time on YouTube. If you’re ranking mainstream names, chances are most of your S tier will have a Hololive tag somewhere.

Nijisanji

Nijisanji was arguably the first agency to treat VTubing primarily as a live streaming format rather than a scripted content vehicle. Its EN branch has grown significantly and includes some of the highest earning VTubers by Super Chat and donation revenue.

VShojo and other Western agencies

VShojo built its reputation on a smaller, tighter roster with a “talent first” philosophy, giving creators more creative freedom than the larger Japanese agencies typically allow. The agency ceased operations in 2025, but its former members, including Ironmouse, remain some of the most watched independent VTubers around, so you’ll still see them show up constantly in fan-made rankings.

Independent VTubers

Independent creators skip the agency structure entirely, managing their own schedules, branding, and monetization. Some of the most talked-about English-speaking VTubers, including several Twitch chart-toppers, are independent rather than agency-backed.

Popular VTuber Tier List Categories to Try

Once your general list feels done, try narrowing it. Browse more tier list templates or start a fresh board for one of these:

• Most Popular VTubers — ranked purely by reach and reputation
• Best Singing VTubers — built around utawaku performance specifically
• Funniest VTubers — pure entertainment value, ignoring subscriber count entirely
• Best VTuber Debuts of the Year — for tracking who made the strongest first impression
• Hololive-Only or Nijisanji-Only Tier List — for fans who follow one agency closely

Each of these works with the same tool, just start a fresh board and adjust which names you pull in.

Customizing Your VTubers Tier List

The board isn’t locked into a fixed S/A/B/C/D/F structure. You can add or remove tiers entirely, which matters here because five generic ranks rarely capture how VTuber fans actually think about their favorites. Add a “Haven’t watched enough to judge” row. Add a “Would die for” row above S tier. It’s your call.

Every tier can also get a custom background color and a custom text color for its label, so a joke tier can look visually different from a serious one. Tiers can be dragged up or down to reorder them, and the whole board can be reset if you want to start over.

The Create button opens a full design editor, comparable to a lightweight version of MS Paint, with a pen tool, shape tools, an eraser, undo and redo, and a text tool with bold, italic, and alignment options. If you upload your own image of a VTuber, you can draw on it or add text directly, which is handy for adding a caption, a joke, or fixing a screenshot before it goes on the board.

Sharing and Downloading Your Tier List

Once you’re happy with your VTuber tier list, downloading it as an image takes one click from the Save/Download menu. If you’d rather show it off somewhere, generating a shareable link creates a dedicated page for that specific ranking.

That shared page comes with its own download button, social share buttons for platforms like Facebook, X, Reddit, and WhatsApp, and emoji reactions so anyone viewing it can react without needing an account either. There’s also an embed code, so if you run a blog or a Discord community wiki, the interactive tier list can sit directly inside that page rather than just linking out to it. A comment box sits underneath the board for people to actually argue with your ranking, which, if you’ve ever posted a VTuber tier list anywhere online, is going to happen regardless.

Using AI to Build a Bigger, More Complete Roster

VTubing spans hundreds of active creators across dozens of agencies, and manually uploading each one is genuinely tedious if you want a truly complete board. The site includes a prompt you can copy and paste into any AI tool. Tell that AI what you want ranked, for example “current Hololive EN and JP talents” or “top independent English-speaking VTubers,” and it returns a block of code. Import that code back into the tier list maker, and it builds a template with the relevant images already added and ready to rank.

This is most useful for exactly the kind of list a single person can’t reasonably build by hand: a full-agency roster, a decade of debuts, or a cross-agency “everyone I’ve ever watched” board.

Keeping This Template Up to Date

VTuber rosters change constantly. New generations debut, some talents graduate or go independent, and agencies add new branches every year. If you notice someone missing from the preloaded template, or spot an outdated image, every template includes a report option specifically for flagging that. It takes a click, and it’s how templates like this one stay usable instead of freezing at whatever the roster looked like the day they were built.

FAQ

What is a VTuber tier list?

A VTuber tier list is a ranking of virtual streamers, organized into tiers (commonly S through F), based on whatever criteria the person making it cares about, popularity, singing ability, humor, or personal favoritism.

Who is the most popular VTuber?

By YouTube subscriber count, Gawr Gura of Hololive English is generally considered the most subscribed VTuber, with over 4.6 million subscribers as of mid-2026. On Twitch, Ironmouse holds a similar position by follower count. Popularity by other measures, like watch time or engagement, can shift that picture.

What’s the difference between Hololive and Nijisanji?

Hololive and Nijisanji are the two largest VTuber agencies, both based in Japan. Hololive tends to lean toward a more curated, gaming and variety-content format, while Nijisanji, sometimes credited as the format’s pioneer, built its identity around treating VTubing primarily as live streaming. Both have grown large English-speaking branches.

Do I need an account to make or share a VTuber tier list?

No. Creating, editing, downloading, sharing, commenting, reacting, and embedding all work without creating an account or logging in anywhere on this site.

Can I add VTubers that aren’t in the template?

Yes. Use the Create button to upload your own image of any VTuber and drop it directly into the board alongside the preloaded roster.

Final Word

A subscriber count can tell you who’s biggest, but it can’t tell you who deserves your S tier, that part is still up to you. This VTubers tier list gives you a current, agency-organized roster to start from, a real reason to think about criteria beyond raw numbers, and every tool you need to customize, save, and share the result, all without creating an account. Scroll back up to the tier list maker, drag your first name into place, and see where the rest of the list falls.
