I went looking for my old Alchemy Stars account a few months ago, curious if Carleen was still as broken as I remembered, and found out the game had shut down entirely. That’s probably how you got here too, not to optimize a live meta, but to relive one, argue about one, or show a friend a game that technically doesn’t exist anymore.
That’s exactly why this Alchemy Stars tier list works differently from most you’ll find elsewhere. Below is a complete, preloaded tier list template with every major Aurorian already added and ready to drag into tiers. No uploading images, no account, no login. Start ranking the moment you scroll down, or check out the free tier list maker for any other game if you want to build one from scratch.
What Happened to Alchemy Stars (And Why This Tier List Is Different)
Alchemy Stars, developed by Tencent’s Level Infinite team, officially shut down on January 24, 2025. The game had been running since its June 2021 global release, and like most gacha titles that reach end of service, the developers stopped adding new characters or rebalancing the ones already in the game.
That matters more than it sounds like it should, because most tier list content on the internet is written to track a moving target. New banners, new characters, and monthly rebalances usually mean the tier order is a snapshot that expires within weeks. Alchemy Stars doesn’t have that problem anymore. The roster is final. There will be no new Aurorians, no surprise buffs, no shifting meta.
So this Alchemy Stars character tier list isn’t trying to be the freshest guide for a live game, it’s meant to be the settled, complete word on a finished one. If you’re a returning player, a nostalgic fan, or someone who just watched a video essay about gacha games that closed too soon, this is built for you specifically, not for someone chasing this week’s tier shuffle.
Try the Alchemy Stars Tier List Maker (Preloaded, No Sign-Up)
The template on this page comes preloaded with images of Alchemy Stars’ full playable roster, already added and sorted into a starting tier layout. You don’t need to upload a single character yourself unless you want to add something extra.
How to Use This Template
Drag any character’s portrait from the bottom tray straight into the tier row where you think they belong. If you disagree with the starting placement (and you probably will, everyone has a different opinion on where Vice or Faust belongs), just pick them up and move them. Want to compare Fire-element units against each other specifically? Drag only those into their own row and ignore the rest for now. When you’re happy with the layout, hit the full-screen button in the corner to expand the whole board, which is genuinely useful if you’re doing this on a laptop screen or want to show a friend your ranking without a cramped browser window.
Customizing Your List
This template isn’t locked to a fixed S/A/B/C/D/F layout. You can add or remove tiers entirely, so if you want a dedicated “situational” row separate from “bad,” you can build that. Every tier can be renamed (swap “S” for “Meta Carries” if you want), and you can set a custom background color and text color for each tier label so your Fire-tier row can actually be colored orange if that’s your thing. Tiers can be dragged up or down to reorder them, and if you want to start over completely, there’s a reset button for the whole board.
If you want to go further than just rearranging premade portraits, clicking the Create button opens a full lightweight design editor. It works a bit like a stripped-down MS Paint: a pen tool for freehand drawing, shape tools, an eraser, undo and redo, and a text tool with bold, italic, and alignment options. You can upload your own image (a fan art piece, a screenshot of your favorite team) and draw directly on it or add captions before dropping it into your tier list.
Alchemy Stars Tiers Explained
Before the rankings, a quick primer, since a fair number of visitors here never actually played the game and just want to understand what they’re looking at.
Star Rarity System (3-Star to 6-Star)
Every Aurorian in Alchemy Stars has a star rarity between 3 and 6, with 6-star being the rarest and generally most powerful. Rarity affects a character’s ability kit and ceiling more than their raw stats, since stats converge at max level and max Breakthrough regardless of rarity. In practice, most of the strongest overall units came from the 6-star and 5-star pools.
Aurorian Classes
Characters are split into four functional classes:
| Class | Role |
|---|---|
| Detonator | Primary damage dealer, usually the highest single-target or AoE output |
| Converter | Changes the color of tiles on the battlefield, enabling combos |
| Sniper | Ranged, positional damage, often strong against specific enemy types |
| Support | Healing, buffs, and utility to keep the team alive |
Key Terms
A few words you’ll see repeated across any Alchemy Stars discussion: Chain Combo refers to the bonus attack triggered by moving a character across same-colored tiles. Prism tiles are enhanced grid tiles that boost damage or effects when triggered. Aurora Time is a temporary buffed state activated during battle. Elements (Fire, Water, Forest, Thunder) determine both a character’s strengths against enemy types and which “monochrome” team they slot into.
Best Alchemy Stars Characters by Element
The rankings below reflect where these characters generally landed across their time in the game, well after most of the roster had been through several rounds of rebalancing. Since the game is no longer active, none of this will shift again, this is the final word on the Alchemy Stars character tier list.
Best Fire Aurorians
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S+ | Ryza, Hati, Jona, Giles, Lorelei, Maggie, Lilica, Uriel, Carleen: Smoldering Soul, Dantang |
| S | Victoria, Sinsa, Leona, Charon, Gram, Tohru, Faust, Istvan, Novio, Brock |
| A | Taki, Benny & Curo, Rouge, Barbara, Patricia |
| B | Violet, Patty & Patsy, Cordy, Genevieve, Alice |
| C | Chandra, Chainsaw Rick, Sork & Bekk, Pepi |
Charon deserves the reputation she built during the game’s early run. Her train-summon active hits three columns and resets tiles as it goes, which made her one of the easiest Fire converters to build a team around without much thinking. Faust earns her S tier mostly through utility, converting tiles while also debuffing enemies with a fright effect, which is exactly the kind of dual-purpose kit that ages well.
Best Water Aurorians
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S+ | Carleen, Bethlehem, Ruby, Zarya, Tina, Barton, Azure, Fia, Wilhelm, Sheol |
| S | Raphael, Hydrad, Philyshy, Cena, Noah, Chloe, Sariel, Kleken, Nina, Regal |
| A | Vic, Kristen, Beretta, Allura, Maya |
| B | Zoya, Rainbow, Kuma & Pengy, Elma, Constantine |
| C | Kayano, Fafnir, Tweety, Michenny, Jane |
Philyshy is the standout healer in this element, largely because her chain skill heals the team every time she moves across the board rather than only on a cooldown timer, which makes her feel far more active than most support units. Raphael pairs well with her since his kit resets the board’s blue tiles while also scaling healing off missing team HP, which synergizes directly with a low-HP push.
Best Forest Aurorians
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S+ | Klaudia, Hiiro, Minos, Jeriah, Siobhan, Sikare, Hedy, Goldie, Mithra |
| S | Louise, Gabriel, Jeno, Lucoa, Antony, Naroxel, Nikinis, Pact, Leo, Beryl |
| A | Yao, Lola, Casta, Pasolo, Anatoli, Uriah, Ophina, Wendy |
| B | Sylva, Dawn, Joselyne |
| C | Jola, Dove, Lester, Clover, Jomu, Leah |
Louise is the healer most Forest teams built around, and for good reason: she’s reliable without needing much investment. Ophina rewards patience specifically, her kit is unremarkable early but her full Limit Break unlocks noticeably higher mobility, which is a common pattern for mid-rarity units in this game.
Best Thunder Aurorians
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S+ | Reinhardt, Michael, Irridon, Pollux, Nemesis, Florine, Chen’ni |
| S | Wrath, Leyn, Tessa, Requiem, Luke, Revy, Eve, Gronru, Beverly, Ciel, Axelia, Roy |
| A | Sadie, Vivian, Dayna, Erica, Hachi & Gin, Mia, Sanae, Kya |
| B | Kafka, Kanna, Unimet, Rabbie, Amy |
| C | Bonacie, Angel, Ansia, Lilliam, Eho |
Thunder teams historically struggled with mobility more than the other elements, since the roster lacks an abundance of strong teleport units. Michael became the default answer to that problem, and Eho is the common fallback for players who never pulled him.
Building a Team Around Your Tier List
A tier list only tells you who’s individually strong, not who works well together, so it’s worth thinking about team construction separately.
Mono-Element Teams
The most common team structure in Alchemy Stars is the “monochrome” team, where every character shares the same element. This isn’t the only viable approach, but it’s the one most guides and most of the community settled on, since same-element teams generate more usable tiles for each other’s Chain Combos. Your strongest available Captain generally anchors the team regardless of which element you’re building around.
What to Prioritize First
If you’re assembling a team from a tier list rather than starting from scratch, prioritize in this order: one healer, one tile converter, and then fill the remaining slots with your best available damage dealers. Skipping the converter is the most common mistake, since without one, your team generates far fewer of the tiles needed to trigger strong Chain Combos.
Importing a Custom Alchemy Stars Template with AI
The preloaded template above covers the full main roster, but if you want a narrower cut, say, only 6-star units, or a version that includes skins and event-exclusive Aurorians, you don’t need to build that manually. Tier List Maker includes a prompt you can copy and paste into any AI tool. Tell that AI what you specifically want ranked (“only 6-star Alchemy Stars characters” or “Alchemy Stars characters including skins and NPCs”), and it returns a block of code. Import that code back into the tier list maker, and it automatically builds a new template with the relevant items already added, ready to rank. This is the fastest route if you want a more specific slice of the roster than the default Alchemy Stars tier list template gives you.
Share Your Tier List
Once your ranking is finished, you can download it as an image straight from the board, no account required. If you’d rather share the interactive version instead of a static picture, generating a link takes you to a page with its own download button, social share buttons for Facebook, X, Reddit, and WhatsApp, and an embed code if you want to drop the interactive list into a blog post or forum thread. Other viewers who land on your shared link can react with emojis and leave comments directly underneath your ranking, which tends to spark exactly the kind of “how could you put Vice below Ruby” arguments that make tier list debates fun in the first place.

Something Missing or Outdated?
Every template on this site includes a report option, and it’s worth using here. Even competitor tier lists for this exact game contradict each other, some list the same character in two different tiers, others are missing units entirely because their source data was incomplete. If you spot a character that’s missing, mislabeled, or just placed somewhere you think is wrong given how the game actually played out, use the report button on the template to flag it. Since Alchemy Stars is no longer being updated by its developer, keeping this list accurate is really about correcting historical gaps rather than tracking new content, which is a fixable problem with enough reader input.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Alchemy Stars still playable?
No. Alchemy Stars officially shut down on January 24, 2025, and is no longer available to download or play on iOS or Android.
Do I need an account to make a tier list here?
No. Every feature on this page, ranking, editing, downloading, sharing, reacting, commenting, and embedding, works without creating an account or logging in.
What was considered the best team comp in Alchemy Stars?
The mono-element (monochrome) team structure was the most widely used approach, typically built around one healer, one tile converter, and the strongest available damage dealers from a single element.
Why do different Alchemy Stars tier lists disagree with each other?
Because the game received multiple rebalance patches over its four years of service, and many existing tier lists online were never fully updated after the game’s final changes, or were compiled from incomplete character archives.
About This Tier List
This page is an independent, fan-made tier list and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tencent, Level Infinite, or the developers of Alchemy Stars. Rankings reflect general community consensus from the game’s final active period and are meant as a starting point for discussion, not an absolute judgment. Aurorian names, artwork references, and game terminology belong to their respective owners.
The Bottom Line
Alchemy Stars may be finished, but the argument over who really carried your account isn’t, and this Alchemy Stars tier list gives you a complete, preloaded template to settle it without uploading a single image or creating an account. Drag the roster into your own tiers, customize the board however you want, share the result with a link or an embed, and flag anything that looks off so the list stays accurate for the next person who comes looking for it. The template is right above, ready for the tier list maker to help you build whatever order you think is actually correct.
